Fall Semester Fundraisers 

• T-Shirts 

- Profit $158 — that will more than double if we sell the remaining 14 shirts

 - can still place individual orders for 10% return to BMW 

  

• Barnes and Noble Book Fair 

 - Kick-off event (at B&N) on Dec. 13 — children will make bookmark 

 - Vouchers may be used for online purchases as well  

Spring Semester Fundraisers  

• Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast 

- Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 8-10am

- Need to sell tickets; BMW gets $4 for every $5 ticket sold 

• Books & Bubbles/Books & Bites 

- Looking at a February date 

- Beth from Lilipad Creations is on board; looking into other vendors 

• Silent Auction 

 - April 2, 5-7:30 p.m. at BMW 

 -  $10/plate 

 - Children will be glazing plates in class December 8, 9 and 10 

• Spring Yard Sale 

 - BMW families to sell baby/children’s toys, games, books, etc. 

 - Possibility that Eastern Hills Bible Church in Manlius will host event in conjunction with area’s 

    larger sale in June

Paint-a-plate for our Spring Fundraiser

Plates will be available to eat on and take home during our annual spring semester fundraiser, on Saturday, April 2nd from 5:00-7:00pm.

A 7 1/2 inch plate will be ordered for each BMW student to paint during the school day. You can also order additional plates for siblings/family members to paint on a first come/first serve basis.  These make very special keepsakes or gifts.

Plates will be painted at BMW on Wed 12/8, Th 12/9 & Fri 12/10 during the school day.  Every student will glaze one plate during these three days.

Two additional afternoon painting sessions are scheduled for Thursday 1/6  & Friday 1/7  from 3:30-4:30.  This is a good time to bring older siblings who'd like to make a plate.  You will need to attend one of these sessions if your order more than one plate.  If these times are not convenient for you, please contact me to make arrangments.

Plates will be fired at SU’s School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Plates will be sold for $10.  Price of each plate includes glaze as well as a donation to the BMW Parent Board.  Check your child's mailbox for an order form or download under "Fundraising Links."  Orders are due by Fri. Dec. 3rd.  Checks can be made payable to the "BMW Parent Board."

*We would like ALL BMW students to be able to paint one plate.  Please let Daria or Lisa know if you are unable to afford $10 for a plate at this time.

Parent Board Meeting Next Tuesday

Join us at the school on Tuesday, the 16th at 7:00p for our next parent board meeting.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!

Recycling Fundraiser Update

I am going to be shipping the contents of the "Recycling Fundraiser" bin on Friday.  If you have anything you've been meaning to drop in the bin, try and remember to bring it in on Thursday or Friday morning.  Here is the list of acceptable items:

• digital cameras
• radar detectors
• laptop computers
• digital video cameras
• electronic book readers
• inkjet cartridges (NO LASER TONER CARTRIDGES)
• handheld game systems
• MP3 players
• GPS Devices
• Gold, Silver & Platinum Jewelry

Jowonio Pancake Breakfast on Saturday!

Let's get out and support Jowonio on Saturday from 8-10am!  Sounds like fun!

Catalog Orders are IN!

The "For Small Hands" Catalog orders are ready for pick-up in the office.  Stop in and grab yours on your way in or out this week.  There were a few backordered items which we indicated on the order forms.  Backordered items will ship soon and we'll contact you when they arrive.  Thanks to all of you who placed orders--the teachers are sooo excited to use their merchandise credit for the school!

Remember that individual orders can still be placed and orders of $25 or more will give 10% back to the school.  You just need to put in the school's information.  (See the October posting for info)

You Can Still Get A BMW T-Shirt!

We have 7 short sleeve t-shirts in an adult size large and we have 7 short-sleeve shirts in size 4T.  The cost is $12 each.  They are available in the office.

Order a "Cheesecake Factory" Cheesecake at B&N

Need a dessert for an upcoming holiday party?  Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes are available at the Barnes and Noble Cafe in 4 varieties: Original, Double Chocolate Godiva, White Chocolate Raspberry and Pumpkin.  Each cheesecake ordered through our school, will count towards the total sales at our upcoming bookfair.  If you'd like to order one, print out an order form under the "Fundraising Links" to the right and turn it in to the office by December 6th.  Your cheesecake will be ready for pick-up the week of the bookfair.  They can also be ordered and paid for at the store DURING the bookfair if you'd rather wait. All Barnes and Noble Cafe sales made with a voucher will count toward our bookfair total.

- Sold 86 shirts, but purchased 100 shirts in hopes to sell the remaining 14

 - Total order was $1717.29 

 - Teachers earned $257.35 merch. credit  

• Barnes and Noble Book Fair 

 - Week of December 13; first day of winter break  

 - Will do a craft at kick-off event (at B&N) on first day 

 - Percentage of sales goes back to school for teachers to spend at B&N  

Spring Semester Fundraiser  

• Silent Auction 

 - Date TBD (looking at early March) 

 - Placing order for 7.5” plates 

 - After break a “call for entries” for donors will be sent out 

  

• Books & Bubbles/Books & Bites 

 - Local author Maggie Simone has offered to do a reading from her book  

  “From Beer to Maternity” at an event and donate profit from book sales to BMW 

 - Ideas in the works: hosting at a residence, incorporating other vendors 

(i.e. Lilypad Creations), selling $5 tickets to event, possible dates in February 

• Spring Yard Sale 

 - BMW families to sell baby/children’s toys, games, books, etc. 

 - Try to have sale at a church 

• Submit Bottles & Cans Receipts 

 - Inquiring at Tops (Nottingham Road and Jamesville Road locations) to see if

Barnes and Noble Bookfair Information

Bookfair vouchers can be downloaded by clicking on the link to the right. Vouchers can be used both in-store and online from 12/13-12/19.  Please email vouchers to family and friends!  BMW will earn up to 20% back to spend on books and resources for the school.
